: (1) The following office will perform the following functions of the promotion committee secretariat:-
(a) The work of the secretariat of the promotion committee according to clauses (a) and (b) of sub-rule (1) of rule 27 is done by the Ministry and the work of the secretariat of the promotion committee according to clauses (c) and (d) is done by the police head office.
(b) The work of the secretariat of the promotion committee as per clauses (e) and (f) of sub-rule (1) of rule 27 by the concerned regional police office.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), for the purpose of promotion of a police employee working in a position lower than the Deputy Inspector of Police working under the direct supervision of the Police Head Office, or for the purpose of carrying out work related to such promotion in accordance with this regulation The secretariat of the promotion committee will be at the police headquarters.
